Project Description

On behalf of the London Borough of Camden, Land Science was instructed to carry out a Phase II geotechnical and geo-environmental investigation as part of a scheme to construct a series of new residential dwellings along with associated private gardens and general landscape improvements. As part of this project, Land Science had already conducted a preliminary investigation and desk study on behalf of the London Borough of Camden.

As per the previously conducted preliminary investigation and desk study, key aspects of this project included to prove the depth of and subsequently the composition of any made ground present across the site along with locating any intrusive boreholes along the perimeter of the site to evaluate contamination migration potential.

In accordance with these, among other, recommendations from the previous reports and the demands set out by the client a regime of Dynamic (windowless) Sampler boreholes, Cable Percussive boreholes, and Falling Head Soakage Tests (FHST) along with laboratory testing were carried out.
