Posted 8 months ago

Due to continued expansion and success we are looking to appoint an experienced Rotary Drilling Technician to join our ground investigation team. The role will involve working in a team of technicians carrying-out all aspects of intrusive ground investigation, from window sampling, excavating trial holes, soakage testing, CBR testing, setting up and managing project sites, monitoring, and maintenance. The role will also involve taking a Lead Driller role in operating our rotary Masenza Mi2 drilling rig.

You will need to be able to work in a small team, as well as occasionally on your own. You will need a strong work ethic, be able to follow instructions precisely, and be committed to working safely. You will also need a clean driving license, and be willing to share driving flat-bed sized vehicles and towing trailers. There will be the opportunity to study for a HND in Land Drilling, and to eventually be in charge of your own site team as the company grows and expands.

Our sites are throughout London and the South East, and site days involve early starts (6-7am typically from the yard) but are usually back at base by mid-afternoon (on average around 10 hours door-to-door). Occasionally site work may be further afield and require staying away from home. Ideally you will live within easy access of our base in Burgess Hill.

We are looking for the following characteristics in the ideal candidate:

  • A strong work ethic to get the job done.
  • Fit and able to cope with moderate level of physical work.
  • Confidence in operating plant and machinery.
  • Able to take instruction, show respect and be willing to get involved and to learn.
  • Polite communication skills, especially when meeting clients.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Someone looking for a new career with good prospects for promotion and skills development.

A suitable remuneration package will be offered, ranging between £28,000 and £40,000 depending on experience and background. We also provide a daily site allowance for subsistence of £10 per day as well as a company bonus scheme.
